※Otorhinolaryngology and Ophthalmology only open at general outpatient.
※Regarding other departments, this system is designed to call for a specialist physician as needed, after medical examination by a physician at the Emergency Medical Center.
※After triage, you may be asked to visit your family doctor during the workday. We appreciate your understanding.

 To All Foreigners Visiting Our Hospital

  • Our hospital offers priority to Japanese medical practices.
  • If you are unable to communicate in Japanese, please arrange to have an interpreter accompany you.
  • If you are unable to have an accompanying interpreter and find difficult to communicate in Japanese, we will use our interpretation tablets.
  • If you are a new patient to our hospital and do not have a referral letter (a patient referral document) from another medical institution you will be charged 7,700yen for a “SENTEI RYOYOHI”, in addition to the first visit fee.
  • If you have a Japanese health insurance certificate, your charges will be calculated in accordance with the health insurance system. If you do not have a Japanese health insurance certificate, all medical expenses will be calculated in accordance with our hospital’s own set fee and fully charged as your out-of-pocket costs.
  • We don’t accept overseas health insurance,travel insurance or private insurance, please claim for reimbursement to your insurance company after payment.
  • Please recognize that the waiting time may be longer depending either on the scheduled time of the day or dealing with patients who require urgent medical care.
  • Should you have any dietary restrictions due to your religious beliefs, during your hospital stay we will serve you food that does not include the specified items.

Procedure From Reception To Payment

 Payment

  • After the examination, submit the file to the billing corner, and when your number appears on the monitor, please pay at the cashier or automated payment machine.
  • If you have a Japanese health insurance certificate, your charges will be calculated in accordance with the health insurance system. If you do not have a Japanese health insurance certificate, all medical expenses will be calculated in accordance with our hospital’s own set fee and fully charged as your out-of-pocket costs.
  • We only accept cash (Japanese yen) or the following credit cards for payment. No Electronic money.

 Medicine

  • If a prescription is issued, please pick up your medication at any dispensing pharmacy outside the hospital after paying your bill, and you will be charged for the medication at the dispensing pharmacy.
  • For some cases, in-hospital prescriptions may be prescribed at the discretion of the doctor, in such a case the cost of the medication will be included in the medical bill.

By car or motorcycle

  • Parking capacity: 230 cars (handicapped parking available).
  • Parking fee: Free for outpatients. Free parking for all other visitors for the first 30 minutes, then 100 yen per 30 minutes.
  • Please present your receipt and parking ticket at the cashier.

  • No.11 Yasuoka-Ueibaru Line (downtown) 1 minute walk from Naha City Hospital Bus Stop.
  • No.333 Itoman-Nishihara Line (Sueyoshi) 1 minute walk from Naha City Hospital Bus Stop.

In case of illness or injury of foreign tourists, etc., Okinawa Prefecture provides telephone consultation in multiple languages,asking consultation symptoms and other information, giving necessary advice, and providing guides to reach medical institutions that can respond in foreign languages, etc. Please feel free to use this service.
In addition, if you wish to see a doctor at this hospital, please state your language of choice (the first announcement is in Japanese) and say Naha City Hospital, please. An interpreter will then join and start a three-way call for interpretation.
